Tai Chi Walks

Tai Chi Walks are a series of video blogs the apply the principles of Tai Chi to something many of us take for granted, walking. Yesterday I had an opportunity to put these theories to practice on a long distance (26.5 miles) charity walk. Well the outcome was that I made it up every hill without stopping and completed the walk in record time (for me). However, practicing short walks does not totaly prepare you for a long walk ha ha.

Interestingly I ran through the Short Form during some short stops. What I found was it realigned my tired body finding a better posture to continue the walk. The connection between each part of the body being reset.

The other thing that I noted was the movements of the form flowed effortlessly even though walking had become an effort. This may evidence the benefits of mindful movement practiced over time - the ability to connect both mind and body in a deeper way.
