Five Principles In Three Postures

Connection

Grasp the Sparrows Tail: when you turn your right palm up and direct the fingers of the left hand towards the right wrist a flexing is felt in the arms then the shoulders. Relax the shoulders and see if you can feel the flexing go as far as the shoulder blades. Does turning the hands flex the shoulder blades forward or back?  If forward bring the hands in towards the body until you feel your shoulder blades flexing back.

…… This program of learning explores five key principles of Tai Chi in the sequence of postures 'grasp the sparrows tail', 'throw down' and 'double handed push'.

Copy the sequence of posture and movement using the Tai Chi video or images. Never do anything that is uncomfortable. After uncomfortable comes tension ruining your practice. After tension comes discomfort. After discomfort comes injury.
