5 Principles In 3 Postures #8

Breathing

Grasp the Sparrows Tail: as you move into the posture breath out. Do this relaxing your diaphragm then your abdomen.

Throw Down: as soon as you start moving towards 'Throw Down' start breaching in through your nose. Draw air into your lungs by drawing in your abdomen then drawing up your diaphragm. Practice synchronising all three actions; movement between postures, filling the lungs with air by drawing in your abdomen - diaphragm up.

Double Handed Push: as soon as your lungs are full of air breath out allowing the air to flow out through your nose. Again relax as you breath out. Relax your diaphragm first then your abdomen.

…….. Never do anything that is uncomfortable. After uncomfortable comes tension ruining your practice. After tension comes discomfort. After discomfort comes injury.
