Kabbalah and Tai Chi Symbolism in Three Dimensions
On our journey things unfold, we see more similarities more than we see differences. Let me share a possibility. We can see a connection between the symbolism of the tai chi yinyang image and the Kabbalah tree of life.
These are unfolding thoughts to play with rather than a defined position and in no way should reflect badly on my Kabbalah or Tai Chi teachers.
For many years I have described the tai chi symbol as a three dimensional object. In fact a version of this has been the image used in over 35 years of teaching tai chi. So my thought was, can we imagine the Kabbalah as a three dimensional object in the same way? Well yes it is possible although as with the tai chi symbol my mind could only go so far with experiencing the concept before I needed to manifest it as a solid object.
The central pillar links the absolute opposites of Yin (Malkut) and Yang (Kether). The side masculine and feminine pillars are then seen as spiralling between these opposites. We can then place each of the Bagua trigrams associated with the Yinyang symbol on the associated sephiroth of the Kabbalah tree of life.
Looking from above we see the symbol for infinity. Looking from the side we may see the tai chi symbol. Add the cross paths between the sephiroth on each spiralling side pillar and we have the double helix of DNA.
Perhaps more yet to unfold on a journey that will allow each to inform the other.
