5 Principles In 3 Postures #3
Intention
Grasp the Sparrows Tail: the bouncy springy feeling is on the right foot. The right hand turn up in front of you so a small bird can nestle in the palm of your hand, it's tail feathers on your right wrist. The fingers of the left hand gently press down on the tail feathers preventing the bird flying away. The fingers don't actually touch the wrist, the intention is to press down firmly enough to stop the bird flying away but at the same time not harming the bird. The right hand is open giving the bird a platform to sit on. Don't be tempted to close the hand around the bird. Cross lateral intention is the right foot left fingers. The overall intention is yang, expanding.
